MEET EMILY WRIGHT AND LENAE GREENWELL, OWNERS OF MAKE YOUR MARK

  • Meet Emily

Emily was born and raised in Princeton and attended the University of Southern Indiana, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2006. In 2007, Emily and her husband, Rob, brought the tri-state area's first set of quintuplets into the world. Bringing home 3 sweet boys and 2 beautiful little girls to raise was definitely a life-altering shift, and Emily initially stayed home to care for them.

As any stay-at-home parent will tell you, it can be both rewarding and lonely. To stimulate her mind and contribute to the family's finances, Emily decided to take on some bookkeeping work as the kids approached preschool. Ever a fan of supporting local businesses, she contacted the former owner of Make Your Mark to inquire about handling their bookkeeping needs. While she never envisioned the opportunity to be a business owner would arise from a little side gig, Emily saw Make Your Mark's growth potential and knew it had a solid foundation of hometown customers.

She purchased the business in 2017 and is excited to give back to the community that has done so much for her family over the years.

  • Meet Lenae

Lenae also calls Princeton home. She served as an Office Administrator for a local optometry office for 9 years before transitioning to join Make Your Mark. After having twins in 2017, Lenae returned to the optometry office, but after 4 more years and the addition of another baby to the Greenwell crew, she found herself exhausted by trying to keep up with a 9-5 job and meet her family's growing needs.

Much like the leap of faith Emily took by approaching local businesses about bookkeeping, Lenae took a risk and messaged Emily to see if she could help with Make Your Mark's administrative needs. While Emily had the quints and Lenae was mom to twins, they had never met in person, which is rare in multiples. Knowing the value of good help, Emily quickly replied, asking Lenae to stop by the shop. Since the moment Lenae walked through the door, it's been clear to both that God's hand was at work in their potential partnership.

It just felt natural and right. Emily wasn't expecting God to answer her prayers for someone to help shoulder the load so quickly and didn't know exactly where Lenae fit in, but she knew an answered prayer when she saw one! Emily worked to show Lenae the ropes, and the two just clicked. They may have only met in 2021, but most people would think they've been friends forever.

After working together for a few months, the two began talking about Make Your Mark's potential - hoping and praying to become business partners. After months of praying, mountains of paperwork, and several deep conversations, the two decided to step out in faith, become business partners, and begin the exciting journey of expanding the business.

The Future of Make Your Mark

When Emily purchased Make Your Mark in 2017, she was determined to make room for motherhood in the workplace. She prides herself on enabling employees to maintain a healthy work/life balance, holding space to take care of sick kids, or be present for school functions and family events. Investing in the lives and well-being of her staff has developed a loyal team that takes care of each other and goes above and beyond to exceed customer expectations every day.

At the start, Make Your Mark offered only simple vinyl designs and embroidery. Over the last 5 years, they've expanded to offer vinyl, embroidery, transfers, direct-to-garment (DTG), and silk screen printing services - all in-house. Whether a customer needs 1 shirt, or 1,000, the Make Your Mark team is up for the challenge.

Streamlining workflows, standardizing turn-around times, and bringing a diverse array of services in-house means customers can depend on Make Your Mark to get the job done. Knowing the staff will be honest about a project's challenges or cost, provide the kind of personalized service you only find in a small town, and produce high-quality products clients can be proud of, has created a loyal customer base that keeps area residents and businesses owners coming back for a great experience, every time.

The staff at Make Your Mark truly loves getting to know customers by name and becoming a part of their unique stories. Each one values the blessing it is to be part of an amazing team of women that works hard every day to show the world that small-town life is the best kind of life.

Make Your Mark Gives Back

Our business's name hints at something we know to be true. This town and its people have shaped us and left their mark in the people that we are. We want to leave our mark on the place that has invested in and shaped us. We love the unique opportunities we have to honor our hometown by giving back as local business owners. The ability to offer fundraisers such as the Kaden McKannan Fundraiser or make countless donations to local schools and charities to help meet their various needs are just a few ways we have committed ourselves to give back to the place we call home.
